Age: 15 (16 in 3 days)
How many chapters of the manga have you read?: Well, I've read to book 12, but I've read scanlations and spoilers up to Ch. 123.
Who do you want to role-play? Hatori Souma
Why do you want to role-play this particular character?: I want to play Hatori because in some ways he reminds me of myself. I also want to play his character because he is so patient and cares so deeply, but yet he doesn't like showing that. I guess I just like that whole mysterious and cold vibe that he gives off.
How often will you be able to participate in this site?: I should be on at least every other day.
Describe the character and their past you want to play in your own words
Hatori appears cold at first, but he really does care. He just tries to block himself from being hurt, and that is simply his nature. He is a pretty patient person and at times pretty indulgent. He seems distant from others, and he hardly shows his emotions to anybody. Instead, he thinks about them on his own and suffers for the most part in silence. He seems to give all his time to others and doesn't have that much for himself. He is pretty selfless, but he has trouble with dealing with Akito. With Akito, he plays the part of the servant like so many of the family do. He's kind of mysterious about everything and doesn't say too many things openly. A big problem with Hatori is that he sits back and lets things happen. Sometimes he does it even if he thinks something is wrong.
Hatori's past is very sad. He fell in love with his assistant Kana. Hcouldn't let any physical thing happen because he would turn into a sea horse. However, she found out about his secret and still liked him. She taught him how to be happy, but it didn't last forever. Akito found out, and she wasn't the least bit happy. She made Hatori blind in one eye and made Kana think it was her fault. Kana sunk into a sort of depression because she blamed herself. Hatori was forced to erase her memory to free her, so now he doesn't really like showing how he feels. She got married, but he still can't let go of his memories.

Hatori was taking a drag from his cigarette and thinking. He was sitting in a chair in his office. Today had been better than most pertaining to work. He hadn't gotten that many calls from the family except Akito, and for the most part things had run pretty smoothly. There had been that call from Shigure. Hatori rolled his eyes just thinking about it. Shigure had tried to get him involved in some trip that they were taking or something, and on top of that he tried to make Hatori out to be the lecherous one.
"That was a new level of stupidity even for him," Hatori said out loud to himself.
He wished that Shigure would stop meddling in things sometimes. Stirring things up wasn't always a good idea, but Hatori supposed that it was better than just letting things happen like he did. Things couldn't change if nobody tried to make things different. With a pang, the thought brought up memories of Kana. That was what he should've done. He could've tried harder to protect her, but instead he had let her get hurt. It seemed to him that nobody from the zodiac was allowed to fall in love and keep it. Then again, the members of the zodiac couldn't do much. They were forced to live with difficulties that others could only dream of. Suddenly, his eye was drawn to the picture of Kana that he still kept.
I'm glad that you found somebody else. You found happiness again, but I'm sure that I will have no other chance. We of the zodiac are just not made to have somebody like you in their lives. I'm only sorry that you had to suffer...even if you've forgotten that you did. You blamed yourself when it was me that the blame fell on.
Hatori sighed and closed his eyes, but he immediately opened them again. A picture of Kana floated across his mind. He had called up the image of her face right before he had erased her memory. The tears clinging to her cheek had seemed real enough to touch. They were like the last drops of snow melting before the release of spring came. He was the winter, and she was the spring. She had escaped from him to find her real happiness. He was left to remember what happiness had been and could've been. He shook his head irritably.
I'm being stupid. It was my own fault that I couldn't hold on to her. If I had tried harder, then perhaps we'd still be together.
He shook his head again and stood up and gazed outside. Then he remembered that he was supposed to see Akito again. He quickly glanced at the time and realized that he was late. Akito would be furious, and Hatori would only be able to offer his apologies. Then Akito would probably have some things for him to do. He quickly pulled on his coat, put out his cigarette, and went out the door. The air hit him, and he felt a little refreshed. In his office, the smoke from the cigarette curled towards the ceiling. It was like the last traces of smoke were trying to get out but had nowhere to go just like Hatori's memories of Kana.
